What is beyond the universe?

Thu Apr 19, 2007, 5:41 AM
:bulletpurple:--TO JOIN, ADD US TO YOUR FRIENDS LIST--:bulletpurple:

Welcome to the Philosophy Club @ Deviant Art! Our goal is to maintain a collection of writings by the many self-proclaimed philosophers on Deviant Art. One definition of a philosopher is a person devoted to studying and producing results in philosophy. The word, "philosopher," literally means "lover of wisdom." We are by no means suggesting that this is what a philosopher actually is; this is for you to determine.

We like to consider ourselves the "unofficial" philosophy forum of Deviant Art, as there is technically not a philosophy forum anywhere to be found. One of our intents is that our journal entries will become a non-stop battleground of philosophical discussion, like a toilet stall covered in obscene graffiti.

The fact that you have acknowledged your own existence- (we hope) -is sufficient evidence that you are capable of philosophical thought, and we welcome you aboard. If you wish to join, simply add us to your friends list and we will add your avatar to our list of thinkers. We may occasionally contact you about all things philosophical. Until then, get to know the others ...and spread the word! (Shamelessly plugging the club with your own friends is a great way to bring 'em in. That, and annoy the heck out of your chums.)

:bulletpurple:--CURRENT TOPIC--:bulletpurple:
The Current Topic is intended to be the stimulant of some kind of organized discussion on its relative journal entry:

What is beyond the universe?

Was the universe designed by an outside agent? Does anything exist outside of the universe? How does this have an effect on our lives?

---

If you wish to join the discussion, post your thoughts in a comment on this journal! =]

Woah that's deep, man!

No seriously? What if we were to try and zoom out to discover what lies beyond? Would we find ourselves zooming up, up, up until we were hurtling in reverse through the vacuum of space, until we were far out enough to distinguish our universe as a single cluster. At this point we would be traveling along in imperceptible little bits through a vast span of sucking anti-matter space gloop! (It is unlikely that you would survive this...)And you kept going out until you could see another cluster, but now they looked more like solid specks. And then you noticed the specks were just orbiting a central nucleic umm...speck. What if it looked just like an atom from that far away? And what if you went back a little further and saw other 'atoms' along side it? You then noticed that they formed cells that connected into tissues and grouped into the organs of some epic beast that comes from some distant planet we live on.
What if parallel universes were simply the constituents of the atoms of the same 'element'?
What if we found out that we were all a God to gazillion tiny universes we affected?

"What is beyond the universe?"
If the universe is curved that makes it more interesting because the earth is curved and we used to think there was nothing behind that either...
Or did we I wonder what the ancients thought of the stars. It is so amazing that there both up there move and move around in patterns like someone out them up there to show us about ours selves that we are not alone. If that makes sense.

Great club. I certainly savor such forms of philosophical art One of my philosphical writings has been displayed within my gallery. At any rate. What is beyond our universe? Another universe, part of an endless multiverse. At my perspective quite possible, but will we ever go beyond speculation? Hmm...

Every age has its own poetry; in every age the circumstances of history choose a nation, a race, a class to take up the torch by creating situations that can be expressed or transcended only through poetry.

So is this still going on, or what?
:iconevergrateful:
What did y'all do when you knew it was going?

I wandered onto this group 'site just today.

I wonder if there's enough thought on the philosophy of art at dA.

Or enough people who think in general. I see a few in the forums, but that's too cluttered a place, I think, for me.

If activity here has waned to a halt, I guess its season ended; if anything still's going on, let me know.

i put in a suggestion thread for a 'philosphy forum' when everyone was clamoring for a separate 'religion' one. i think this is as close as it'll ever get to happening.
